The 2011 season featured many memorable moments in the NASCAR K&N Pro Series West – with a dominant championship run, unlike any in recent years, and a youth movement that resulted in multiple records being set.

Greg Pursley thought the bad luck of 2010 was long gone.  He opened 2011 by winning the NASCAR K&N Pro Series West season opener at Phoenix International Raceway in February, his second straight series win at the track,  and was ready to put a rash of flat tires and misfortune in the rearview mirror. There was no reason to think that the No. 26 Gene Price Motorsports Ford wouldn't compete for its first series championship.

Greg Pursley set a track record in winning the Coors Light Pole Award for the NASCAR K&N Pro Series West at Phoenix International Raceway on Saturday as the field was set for the Casino Arizona 125.

Greg Pursley, in the midst of a dominating season, clinched the 2011 NASCAR K&N Pro Series West championship when the Toyota/NAPA Auto Parts 150 presented by Pick-N-Pull got underway on Saturday evening at All American Speedway. And about 57 minutes later, Eric Holmes collected the race win.

Rookie of the Year - Kwasniewski Clinches Sunoco Rookie Award
Dylan Kwasniewski has added to his record-setting season in the NASCAR K&N Pro Series West by clinching the 2011 Sunoco Rookie of the Year Award with two races left this season.  The Las Vegas teen, who when he made his series debut in April at the age of 15 became the youngest driver to race on the circuit, has built an insurmountable lead in the rookie standings – bolstered by winning the Sunoco Rookie of the Race Award in six of the 11 races in which he has competed.

Hunter Index - Kwasniewski Nabs Second K&N West Win
Which was more impressive: Dylan Kwasniewski’s record-breaking pair of wins in the NASCAR K&N Pro Series West or Philip Morris’ perfect August that has him in line for a fourth NASCAR Whelen All-American Series title?  In the end, the difference was was one first-place more vote – and one point overall – that gave Kwasniewski the spot as the top driver in the September edition of the Hunter Index, the monthly power poll voted on by a panel of 13 auto racing writers and NASCAR representatives.

Spokane Qualifying - Kwasniewski Stays Hot
Dylan Kwasniewski continued his hot streak by winning the Coors ’21 Means 21’ Pole Award in NASCAR K&N Pro Series West qualifying on Saturday at Spokane County Raceway. The 16-year-old Kwasniewski out of Las Vegas, Nev., has earned two of the last three series poles and won the last two races. He registered a lap time of 18.796 seconds for an average speed of 95.765 mph on the half-mile track in his No. 03 Rockstar/Royal Purple Ford.

Spokane Preview - Gene Price Team Rolls On
The Gene Price Motorsports team has combined for eight victories in 11 races so far this season in the NASCAR K&N Pro Series West, with six wins from their veteran driver, Greg Pursley, and two wins from their young star, Dylan Kwasniewski.  Pursley scored his six victories in the first eight races. The 43-year-old Southern California native – who now resides in Parker, Ariz. – has built a commanding 284-point lead in the championship standings, with three races remaining.

Montana Recap - Kwasniewski Nabs Second K&N West Win
It took Dylan Kwasniewski just nine races to pick up his first NASCAR K&N Pro Series West victory. And it took just seven more days to get his second, with a win in the Toyota/TTC 150 on Saturday night at Montana Raceway Park.  At 16 years and 2 months old, Kwasniewski became the youngest driver to win a NASCAR K&N Pro Series race – with his victory at Colorado National Speedway on Aug. 6. It did not take the Las Vegas teenager long to get back to Victory Lane.

Montana Qalifying - Pursley Wins Montana Pole
Greg Pursley just keeps rolling along.  Pursley, out of Newhall, Calif., earned the Coors Light Pole Award in NASCAR K&N Pro Series West qualifying on Saturday at Montana Raceway Park. He registered a 13.712-second lap on the quarter-mile high-banked track which translates to an average speed of 65.636 mph. The lap establishes a new track record eclipsing his own record of 13.772 seconds from a season ago in the series’ inaugural visit to the track in the Flathead Valley of Montana.

Colorado Recap - Record-Setting Performance For Kwasniewski
One record in a day wasn’t enough for Dylan Kwasniewski, who won the Toyota/NAPA Auto Parts 150 from the pole Saturday in NASCAR K&N Pro Series West action at Colorado National Speedway. Kwasniewski, a 16-year-old from Las Vegas, led 149 of the 152 laps in the No. 03 Rockstar/Royal Purple Ford at the .375-mile Colorado oval to become the youngest winner in the 57-year history of the K&N Pro Series West. He surpassed the mark previously held by Joey Logano, who won at Phoenix International Raceway on April 19, 2007 at age 16 years, 10 months.

Dylan Kwasniewski became the youngest pole winner in NASCAR K&N Pro Series West history Saturday when he posted the fastest qualifying time for the Toyota/NAPA Auto Parts 150 at Colorado National Speedway.

Evergreen Recap - Pursley Finds A Way
The remarkable season continues for Greg Pursley.  Pursley rebounded from having to make a pit stop for a flat tire while leading early in the Evergreen 200 at Evergreen Speedway and was able to pass his teammate Dylan Kwasniewski with a dozen laps remaining and hold on to win his sixth NASCAR K&N Pro Series West race of the season.

Greg Pursley backed up his performance in practice to win the Coors Light Pole on Saturday during qualifying for the NASCAR K&N Pro Series West Evergreen 200 at Evergreen Speedway.

NASCAR: Hunter Index - Pursley Rolls To Top Of Hunter Index
Greg Pursley has made winning look easy. Seven races into the NASCAR K&N Pro Series West season, he has made five trips to Victory Lane. He won two of the three races in June, leading a 364 of 400 laps en route to the pair of victories. His performance was mirrored in the July voting for the Hunter Index, as determined by a panel of auto racing writers and NASCAR representatives. The Newhall, Calif., driver collected 10 of the 13 first-place votes to easily earn the top spot.

Irwindale Recap 2 - PURSLEY'S 27TH IRWINDALE VICTORY HIS 1ST IN NASCAR TOP WESTERN TOURING SERIES
Greg Pursley, a former Newhall, CA driver, realized a personal and team goal Saturday at Toyota Speedway at Irwindale The 43-year old Parker, AZ resident won the NASCAR K & N Pro Series-West 200-lap feature on his home track starting in the initial 1999 season. The 2004 Super Late Model track, California and NASCAR Whelen All-American Racing Series National Champion won 26 main events on the Irwindale half-mile, but he considered his outstanding track record incomplete without a K & N West triumph.

Irwindale Recap - Pursley Nearly Perfect
It was his fifth win of the season for Greg Pursley but it may have been the sweetest. The Newhall, Calif., native finally got a NASCAR K&N Pro Series West win at his home track, Toyota Speedway at Irwindale, Calif. Pursley led 166 laps en route to the victory in the Southern California Toyota Dealers 200 presented by King Taco.

Points leader Greg Pursley only took five laps of practice Saturday afternoon. But it was enough to assure him his car was going to be fast at Toyota Speedway at Irwindale. He backed that up by earning his third Coors Light Pole Award of the season.

Phoenix Post - Pursley Keeps Momentum Rolling
Greg Pursley's run of success in the NASCAR K&N Pro Series West and Phoenix International Raceway has continued into 2011, with a win in the season opening 3 Amigos Organic Blanco 100 on Thursday. It was Pursley's second straight win at Phoenix – to go with his victory in the 2010 finale at the 1-mile oval – and his third in the last four races.

Irwindale Preview - Pursley Gunning For Big Win In NASCAR Toyota All-Star Showdown Returns to home track, Toyota Speedway
Greg Pursley had a strong finish to his 2010 season in the NASCAR K&N Pro Series West, winning two of the final three races. He hopes to keep that momentum going as he heads to the NASCAR Toyota All-Star Showdown at Toyota Speedway at Irwindale (Calif.) on Jan. 28-28. This will mark the eighth running of the event, which brings attracts the top racers from across North America to what has become the pinnacle of short-track racing in the country.
