Pursley Focused on Winning to Finish Season
Pursley Looking for Second Career Win to Wrap Season for New Team

PARKER, ARIZONA (September 24, 2009) – Greg Pursley, driver of the Gene Price Motorsports Chevrolet in the NASCAR Camping World Series-West, enters the final race of the season for the NASCAR Camping World Series mathematically in sight of the title but his focus is solely on victory lane. Pursley rolls into All American Speedway in Roseville, CA Saturday night with five consecutive top ten finishes and a third place point standing. In his last visit to All American he finished sixth.

With only two finishes outside the top ten all season, Pursley is poised to finish the season like he started, with a win. “That is why we race, to win,” Pursley said. “Gene Price has put together a first class team and we are focused on running up front and winning races. The wins have been a bit harder to come and we let a couple slip through our fingers but we have been competitive all season.”

Pursley scored his second career Coors Light Pole Award in the last series event at Iowa Speedway three weeks ago and would like to make it a weekend sweep at All American. “We have had fast cars all year and we were not happy with the finish at All American in the spring,” Pursley stated. “We have had some time to prepare so I think we will really be good this weekend.”

Recently, Pursley’s car owner Gene Price opened a new full-service race shop complete with full-fabrication and chassis dyno capabilities as well as a complete parts department. So while not at the race track, Pursley is dedicated to growing the race shop business. “We have been real busy since we opened the doors,” Pursley offered. “We have a lot to do to market the business but so far it is looking good.”

“Racing at All American is challenging,” Pursley said. “You know you are going to bang fenders so the best place to be is up front. There will be a big crowd for the race and I am certain we can give them something to cheer about.”

Greg Pursley is in his second full season of competition in the NASCAR Camping World Series and is currently third in the championship standings 185 points out of first and 107 points behind second place. While GPM team can move up with a strong finish they must also protect their position as fourth and fifth are within 52 points.  Pursley has 28 career starts, one win (Thunder Hill 2009), with nine top five and 15 top ten performances along with two Coors Light Pole Awards. Pursley is the 2004 NASCAR Whelen All American Series National Champion where he competed at Toyota Speedway and was a multi-time winner on the now defunct NASCAR Southwest Tour where he competed for many years.

Greg Pursley is sponsored by Gene Price Motorsports, Star Nursery, Ron’s Rear Ends, and Finish Line Signs & Designs. He enters this weekend’s event third in the point standings after twelve races on the strength of five consecutive top ten finishes. The race at All American will be broadcast on SPEED Channel on Thursday, October 8 at 12 noon PT.
