Gene Price Motorsports and Driver Greg Pursley Ready to Rebound at Roseburg
Pursley Focused on Win After Iowa Disappointment

PARKER, AZ (June 3, 2010) – Greg Pursley, driver of the GPM Performance Parts Ford in the NASCAR K&N Pro Series for Gene Price Motorsports, knows how to get around a short track. The former NASCAR National Weekly Racing Series champion is solely focused on winning Saturday night at Douglas County Speedway in Roseburg, OR.

DCS is a challenging track where the winner often comes out of the front row. Four out of the last five races have been won from the pole on a circuit where track position is key and passing is difficult.

Pursley has two starts at DCS and both have resulted in top ten finishes including an 8th place performance last season. The challenging 3/8-mile paved paved oval favors the inside line making the double file restarts in the NKNPS an interesting proposition. The past several races have had numerous caution periods setting up exciting finishes with each restart as drivers vie for the coveted inside groove.

GPM is led by crew chief Jerry Pitts, who joined the team this year after many successful years in the NASCAR Sprint Cup Series, and brings the technical expertise to get the team to victory lane. "Jerry adds a lot of depth to this team," Pursley said. "The Gene Price Motorsports team has a lot of depth with champion drivers and crew members on the roster. We have really good equipment and Gene has provided the resources to win."

While racing is always about one race at a time, the race this Saturday at DCS becomes the most important race of the year as the team positions itself for a title run. "Each race is important," Gene Price offered. "We want to win them all but realistically we need to finish and finish well each time out."

Greg Pursley is in his third full season of competition in the NASCAR K&N Pro Series and currently sits third in the championship standings after three races.  Pursley has 32 career starts, one win (Thunder Hill 2009), with ten top five and 17 top ten performances along with two Coors Light Pole Awards. Pursley is the 2004 NASCAR Whelen All American Series National Champion where he competed at Toyota Speedway and was a multi-time winner on the now defunct NASCAR Southwest Tour where he competed for many years.

Greg Pursley drives a Ford powered by a NASCAR Spec engine. The team is sponsored by GPM Performance Parts, Star Nursery, Oakley, Ron’s Rear Ends, and Finish Line Signs & Designs. The GPM team operates out of a state-of-the-art facility in Parker, AZ. The race from Douglas County Speedway will be broadcast on SPEED Channel on Thursday, June 17 at 3PM PT.
