Gene Price Motorsports
Late Model River Series
Havasu 95 Speedway & Lucas Oil I-10 Speedway
Gene Price Motorsports Signs
as Title Sponsor
GPM to sponsor Popular Late Model River Series
at Lucas Oil I-10 Speedway and Havasu 95 Speedway

PARKER, ARIZONA (August 31, 2009) – When Gene Price relocated to Parker, Arizona it was to relax and enjoy “retirement” but the successful businessman and entrepreneur has had little time for rest. He has built a championship caliber NASCAR Camping World Series West team where the team and driver Greg Pursley are currently in third place in the point standings, opened a full-service race shop in Parker, and has signed on as title sponsor of the popular Late Model River series for the 2009/2010 racing season.

The series will be known as the Gene Price Motorsports Late Model River Series and will feature an eight-race championship split between two area race tracks. Lucas Oil I-10 Speedway in Blythe, CA about sixty miles south of Parker and Havasu 95 Speedway in Lake Havasu, AZ about thirty miles to the North. His new state-of-the-art race shop is perfectly situated to support all competitors in the series.

“I am thrilled to support the series and this is a great way to support not only the local racers but those competitors who travel to the area for the winter series,” Price said. “I really enjoy racing and with two great facilities so close it is a natural fit for our business.”

The newly named Gene Price Motorsports Late Model River Series is in its fourth year and will feature an 8-race mini-series at the two area racetracks starting October 10th at Havasu 95 Speedway. Each track will host four 50-lap features finishing the season on April 3rd 2010 at Havasu 95 Speedway. GPM will contribute to the race purse as well as the championship point fund. Over the four years of the series each race has averaged 15-cars but Havasu 95 Speedway promoter Bill Rozhon expects even greater interest this season.

“We have already had a lot of interest from a lot of new competitors,” Rozhon stated. “With Gene Price Motorsports coming on board it makes the series even bigger and helps us create a brand that we can build on. The series is great for those competitors and fans who still want racing in the winter months and the weather down here is ideal. The fans love it and I expect this season to be the best yet.”

Gene Price Motorsports will have billboard signage, souvenir program advertisements and is slated to have a parts trailer (when ready) to service the racers directly at the track. “The parts business is a big deal,” Price said. “When you come all this way to race you need to have back up and we can provide that peace of mind at the track as well as a whole range of support services back at the shop.”

Lucas Oil I-10 Speedway will features events on October 31, November 14, February 27, 2010, and March 13, 2010. While Havasu 95 Speedway bookends the season with two more events on November 28, 2009 and February 6, 2010.

The GPMLMRS is open to all types of Late Model stock cars. The series runs on an 8” spec tire, with a 2900 lbs/58% left side weight rule. For specific rules for the series visit www.i10speedway.com or www.havasu95speedway.com. Gene Price Motorsports is open Monday through Friday 8am to 5pm and can be reached at 928/328-1973 or visit them on the web at www.genpricemotorsports.com.
